I think that Earthships would be a nice addition to the project in that they are built to be completely sustainable from the electricity production to the water recycling, and the gardens. Even the materials for the houses are recycled.

I love earthships! The area where we want to implement the Genesis Project begins in southern Colorado. The county borders Taos County, New Mexico where the guy who builds earthships lives. Unfortunately the county in Colorado does not allow construction with tires so other methods would have to be used. ICF's I think are a good way to go. You can build with the ideas of the earthship in mind, but using different materials in some instances. And when you build with ICF's you are building a virtual fortress. That's a good thing because the winds there often get up to 90 mph, and the buildings have to be able to sustain a significant snow load.
